万一我们遇上汽车落水，而又无法在落水前及时逃出车外，该怎么办？如何进行自救？有关专家提出以下5个要点：
1、保持清醒的头脑。汽车落水后，在车内的人千万不要惊慌，应迅速辨明自己所处的位置，确定逃生的路线和方案。
2、调整自己的呼吸。刚落水时，车内还没有完全进水，这时，调整自己的呼吸很重要。保持冷静，始终要将口鼻保持在水面之上，哪怕只有一点点空间，都会为你的自救和别人对你的营救争取时间。
3、不要在水刚淹没车子的时候去开车门。车落水后，水是顺着车门之间的缝隙往车里灌的，因为水下的压力非常大，这时候尝试打开车门几乎是一件不可能的事情。在车内即将进满水的刹那———即车内车外压力相对平衡的刹那，做一个深呼吸，迅速打开车门或摇开车窗逃生。因为车内水满后，里外压力基本相同，车门是可以打开的。
4、车落水后，要马上打开电子锁，以防失灵。要用手动方式打开电子锁，即把插销用手拨开。如果有条件，可找大塑料袋套在头上，在脖子处扎紧（留神，别先自己憋死！），塑料袋内的空气可以用作你上浮的氧气。
5、不要在水压很大的时候去敲碎玻璃。因为玻璃一碎，水就会夹着碎玻璃冲向车内，对车内人员造成伤害。
