曾经是纽约市最高的建筑——纽约世界贸易中心南北塔楼，于2001年9月11日上午先后被两架遭恐怖分子骑劫的客机拦腰撞击，随后完全坍塌，超过5000人遇难。患难见真情，不少感人场面从颓垣败瓦中涌现——消防员奋不顾身、日以继夜地挖掘幸存者；纽约市民在红十字会前排长队等待献血，以救助伤患；纽约市长在废墟上一手提麦克风激励拯救人员的士气，一手挥舞着一面小星条旗，继而所有在场者都挥舞着数之不尽的星条旗……
今天是“9·11”恐怖袭击5周年纪念日。美国公民从高高在上的优越感中醒悟了。世界各国的反恐共识也逐渐达成了。逝者已矣，但愿生者能从伤痛中振作，共同祝愿世界和平！
