【本报讯】继北京昨日发生大规模反日示威后，广州和深圳今天也分别有近万人示威，抗议日本篡改侵华历史、侵占钓鱼台以及争取联合国常任理事国。
大批示威者早上从天河体育中心外出发，手持反日标语，穿着标有抵制日货的衣服，游行到在花园酒店的日本驻广州领事馆外集会，要求和日本总领事对话。部分人企图进入酒店递交请愿信，但被警方阻止，于是示威者与在场的公安与防暴警察对峙并发生推撞，场面一度混乱与紧张。后来日本总领事派代表接过请愿信，人群才离开。
队伍之后再次往天河方向进发，到达有日资百货公司JUSCO吉之岛的天河城购物广场，呼吁罢买日货。有人爬上广场外墙，破坏三幅SONY户外大型广告牌之一，并插上五星红旗。天河城在下午2点半左右清场，开广播要求售货员与顾客马上撤离。
下午3点半左右，大批防暴警察来到天河城增援，警方用封条和铁栏封锁天河城东南西北四个大门，并包围整个天河城，驱散游行示威人群。
事件引来大批市民围观，导致周末本已繁忙的体育中心对开的天河路陷入完全瘫痪状态。随后交警决定对天河路多个路段实施临时封路。不少过路市民仍未清楚大批警察封锁天河城的原因，只推测是炸弹威胁，或是发生火灾、命案等。
然后游行队伍继续往东进发，来到南方电脑城、太平洋电脑城等IT大卖场。电脑城工作人员害怕激发示威者的抗日情绪，预先把电脑城外墙的日本品牌大型广告（如NEC，CANON，PANASONIC等）撤下。此时游行人数接近过万，浩浩荡荡继续向岗顶方向进发。
本次游行期间，有人向途经的日本餐厅扔石块和鸡蛋，甚至破坏其玻璃门。部分停在路边的日产汽车也不能幸免。更有人焚烧日本国旗和军旗，涂鸦日本首相小泉纯一郎的照片。警方多次呼吁示威群众，国家和政府理解群众的诉求，希望群众要保持克制与理性，相信国家和政府处理有关问题的决心与能力。
日本方面要求中国政府解释事件，并作适当赔偿。而外交部发言人秦刚说，中日关系出现今天的局面，责任不在中方。他又指出，在示威活动过程中出现的个别过激行为，中方是不愿意看到的。
在深圳，再次有过千人由深圳市体育中心出发，游行到市中心两间日资百货公司外示威。沿途不断有市民加入。警方为示威者开路。
